Zambia tackle Iran in Group C tie

The Zambia U-20 Men’s Football National Team faces Iran in their second Group C match with victory taking them to the second round of the FIFA World Cup.

Zambia tops Group C after having swept aside two-time champions Portugal 2-1 in the opening fixture at the Jeju World Cup Stadium on Sunday.

Goals from Edward Chilufya and Fashion Sakala handed Beston Chambeshi’s side a bright start while their opponents in today’s match also won their opening game via a 1-0 result.

The African champions have received a boost with top striker Patson Daka eligible for selection after having shaken off an injury scare that saw him stretchered off on 43 minutes in the opening game.

In the other day’s matches South Africa faces Italy at the Suwon World Cup Stadium with Africa having an interest in that fixture.

Costa Rica squares off with Portugal in the other Group C match while Japan engages Uruguay in a Group D match.

Zambia’s match kicks off at 10am Zambian time and will be broadcast live on pay television network SuperSport.
