Zanaco extend lead after Arrows win

Zanaco on Wednesday beat Red Arrows 2-1 away at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka to maintain their seven-point lead at the summit of the Faz Super League table.

Zanaco shift from 61 to 64 points while Nkana are second on 57.

The Bankers are also 18 points ahead of defending champions Zesco United, who are in fourth place after 27 and 21 games played respectively before the 2016 title is decided.

Francis Simwanza scored Arrows’ consolation goal in the 90th minute.

The result sees Zanaco pick up their third successive league win since losing 4-2 away to Nkana on August 27.

Zanaco have also completed a league double over Arrows after beating their rivals 2-0 in the first leg up the road at Sunset Stadium in a match Sakala also found the target with his side’s opening goal.
