Power Dynamos held by Blackpool , Nkana win

Nkana rebounded from their recent poor run of results to beat newboys Lumwana Radiants 1-0 away in Lumwana on Wednesday.

The win saw Nkana pick up their second win in five games, in a run they threw-in a draw and two defeats.

Austin Muwowo scored the game’s lone goal, in the 9th minute shifting Nkana from 54 to 57 points, seven behind leaders Zanaco with five matches before the 2016 title is decided.

The result also ended 11th placed Luwana’s five-match unbeaten run.

Lumwana came into the mid-week fixture, on the back of a three straight victories and trace their last loss prior to Wednesday to August 13, in a 3-1 defeat to Green Eagles at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Nkana are now four points ahead of third placed Power who failed to beat demoted Mufulira Blackpool away on the same date.

Powers were held to a 0-0 draw by bottom placed Blackpool who are heading back to Division 1 after just one season in the Super League.

Blackpool goalkeeper Reuben Chisala was a busy man against Power and kept out Kelvin Mubanga’s 19th minute free kick before stopping Julius Situmbeko’s long-range shot in the 56th minute.

Power and Nkana now turn their attention to the 2016 Barclays Cup semifinals this Saturday in doubleheaders at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
