Blackpool give away lead to lose to Zesco United

Mufulira Blackpool are still searching for their first win of the season after they gave away a 1-0 half time lead to lose 2-1 at home to Zesco United on Sunday.

Patrick Kongolo gave the hosts an early lead at the John Yumba Kachofa Stadium but Jesse Were pulled the defending champions level in the 56th minute before John Ching’andu completed the comeback with the winner in the 75th minute.

The victory kept Zesco United in fourth position with 43 points from 20 matches while Blackpool remain firmly at the bottom of the standings with 9 points from 25 matches.

And Lumwana Radiants scored two early goals as they defeated Lusaka Tigers at the Independence Stadium.

They went ahead through Eddie Silwimba in the 6th minute and Hosea Silwimba scored the second goal in the 18th minute.

The victory moved Beston Chambeshi’s side up to 13th with 27 points while Tigers remain rooted in 17th position with 21 points, four points adrift of Lusaka Dynamos above them.

Meanwhile, Nkwazi and Forest Rangers in 12th and 11th positions respectively could only play out a goalless draw in the early kick-off of the day at Independence Stadium.
