The Zambia Senior Women’s National Football Team progressed to the next qualification round of the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations following a 2 – 2 draw with Namibia in the first round, second leg at Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday.
Zambia had a 3 – 1 advantage going into the second leg thanks to goals scored by Noria Sosala and Grace Chanda at Nkoloma Stadium a fortnight ago.
Namibia’s goal in the first leg was scored by Lorraine Jossob.
In the second leg, Chanda opened the scoring in the 4th minute and added a second in the 47th before Namibia’s playmaker Zenatha Coleman pulled one back from the penalty spot on 50 minutes following a handball incident inside the box by Martha Tembo.
It was Coleman who equalised in the 82nd minute for the two sides to share the spoils on the day, giving Zambia a 5 – 3 aggregate win.
Zambia will face the aggregate winner of the tie between Tanzania and Zimbabwe in the second round and final round of qualification to Cameroon, 2016.
