The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has excused midfielder Noah Chivuta Sikombe from this Saturday’s international friendly match against Yemen to allow him concentrate on his new team’s assignments. And FAZ says midfielder Rainford Kalaba and goalie Kalililo Kakonje will leave for Yemen tomorrow.

Chivuta has signed a contract with Absa Premiership side Free State Stars.

Free State Stars also has Zambia goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene on their books. Mweene is captain of Stars.

FAZ Communications Manager Erick Mwanza said Chivuta informed the Association and the technical staff that in view of his signing a new contract, he needed time to settle down and compete for a starting place at his new club.

Mwanza said FAZ was happy with the development saying the Association wished him and every player success. Mwanza said Kalaba and Kakonje will fly out of Lusaka Wednesday afternoon and arrive in Sanaa Thursday morning in time for the final leg of training sessions ahead of the match against Yemen.

Chivuta is in line for selection for in Free State Stars’ next league game against Vasco Da Gama at the Botshabelo Stadium on Saturday and against Joseph Musonda captained Golden Arrows four days later.

Kalililo and Kalaba were out of the country trying to sign for new clubs. Mwanza could not disclose the players’ destinations saying those were personal player matters.
