FAZ President Kalusha Bwalya officially presented new Chipolopolo trainer Dario Bonetti to the country with a call to the football fraternity to rally with the coach as the Zambia National Soccer Team works its way to what Kalusha said was possible continental domination.

Kalusha said the vision, mission and objectives of taking Zambia to greater heights were clear adding that the new coach was ambitious and had necessary attributes to build from the success of Angola 2010 and take Zambia forward.

“Working with various stakeholders, partners and members of the football fraternity, we present to you and through you to the nation and football family an ambitious coach who is determined, proficient and capable of doing the job; a coach with experience from the top level but also with a youthful hunger and ready to take the challenge of guiding the Chipolopolo to the top of the continent and the world,” the Zambian football chief said.

He said the immediate target was triumph at the 2012 Nations Cup in Gabon/Equatorial Guinea or Libya 2013.

“Then after we shall do an evaluation and see where we are because the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers would be getting underway and we need a good run for that championship.”

“It is possible to get to the top, to be in the top five in Africa and top 50 in the world because many of our talents are doing well across major leagues.”

Bonetti comes with a team three assistants and will compliment work with Olympic Team trainer Lucky Msiska. The former AC Milan, Juventus and Brescia player has had coaching stints across Europe.
