Iā€™ DELIGHTED TO BE HERE ā€“ MSISKA – Tuesday, May 11, 2010
Former Chipolopolo international and newly appointed assistant national team coach Lucky Msiska arrived in the country Monday morning and immediately declared his delight at having a role with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and the Zambia National Soccer Team.

His arrival has confounded untruthfulness that was perpetuated by a section of the media to the effect that he had turned down the chance to return to his motherland and have a hand in developing local talent.

Msiska will be one of three coaches on the Zambia Development Team technical bench as the Zambia Development Team prepares to play the qualification games against South Africa for the 2011 African Nations Championship (CHAN). The other two are George Lwandamina and Zanaco trainer Wedson Nyirenda.

Sudan hosts the second edition of the CHAN championship next year.

Zambia plays the first leg on May 23 in South Africa, just three days before playing Chile in an international friendly in Santiago.

The return leg is scheduled for June 5 with the eventual winner qualifying for the finals in Sudan.

A media house had reported untruthfully that Msiska had turned down the offer to come to Zambia and would therefore not travel to Lusaka; revelations which shocked and saddened Msiska who said it was an honour for him and every Zambian to serve their country.

Msiska was part of the CHAN team training programme at the Independence Stadium in Lusaka last afternoon.
