The 2010 annual general meeting of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) was held Saturday at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.
In a hugely successful and well managed conference, the members of the Council came together calling for unity, hard work and focus on the core business of the Association.
Contrary to false media reports in one section of the print media, delegates affirmed their resolution to work together and support the administration in the country’s quest to take the game to the highest levels possible.
The Association posted impressive financial results – the first in the country’s history that the Football Association of Zambia had registered a surplus of up to K3.5billion. other than the impressive financial report, FAZ also presented a K10billion budget for 2010 with a focus to qualify the U17 and U20 teams to the CAF U17 Cup and Africa Youth Championship.
Other targets include qualifying to the second CHAN championship and collecting maximum points in the first three qualifiers to be played in 2010 for the Africa Cup of Nations 2010 which Gabon and Equatorial Guinea will host.
