Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the compliments of the President, ExCo and Secretariat of the Football Association of Zambia and welcome you to Football House and our press briefing this morning, Wednesday 15 September 2010.
2.0 RWANDA 2011 CAF UNDER QUALIFIER
GHANA vs. ZAMBIA
The Zambia junior team returned home yesterday after their weekend game against Ghana at the Ohene Djani Stadium in Accra. The team went down 2-3 on aggregate and will therefore not play any further part in qualification for Rwanda 2011. The boys did very well and in a very long time, we had a U17 team progressing this far in CAF continental qualifiers.
Going forward, we will continue to develop the team by exposing them to international competitions including regional U17 championships, international matches and other championships which we will organize for them. The technical staff, working with other coaches, the leagues, academies, schools and provinces will continue the development of these players so that we have a strong junior base and more players exposed at the highest levels at a very young age.
3.0 FIFA PLAYERS AGENTS REGULATIONS
EXAMINATION DATES – IN SEPTEMBER 2010
In respect of the FIFA Players agents’ examinations, we have just 15 days to go before the next sessions of these written exams. We have announced over the last one month that the year 2010 last sitting of FIFA Players’ written examinations in accordance with the revised FIFA Players’ Agents Regulations will be held on Thursday 30 September 2010. As always, the examinations will start at 10:00am. This is FIFA set worldwide time for the conducting of these examinations.
In view of the notice from FIFA, FAZ has repeatedly reminded all Zambians above the age of 21 interested in contributing to the development of football by becoming players’ agents to register with the Football House and make payment of a non refundable fee of K500, 000.00 to be eligible for this exam.
Zambia does not have a FIFA registered players’ agent. These agents are key personnel and stakeholders especially in the area of players’ transfers, local and international.
Presently, Zambian players rely only on their personal managers and foreign agents for their international transfers and movements.
For those that follow these announcements online, we already have received one applicant for this September examination and it is our hope that we can have many more coming forward.
For those that need assistance with examination materials, please contact us at Football House or go online at FIFA.com

12.0 FIFA RULING
PLAYER EMMANUEL MBOLA TRANSFER
FAZ TO ISSUE ITC TO DRC FA IN RESPECT OF TP MAZEMBE
FIFA, the governing body of world football, has directed FAZ to issue an International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to the Fédération Congolaise de Football-Association (Fecofa) in respect of TP Mazembe for Emmanuel Mbola.
FIFA made the ruling following a request from FAZ in which we sought guidance on the player’s status, movement and transfer.
The Football Association of Zambia will now proceed to issue the ITC.
We have consistently stated and advised the football fraternity and media to understand the rules and regulations governing player transfers to avoid authoring of erroneous reports which can mislead the public.
13.0 INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY MATCH
YEMEN vs. ZAMBIA
18 SEPTEMBER 2010
The Zambia National Team arrived in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa Tuesday morning at about 02.00 hours local time to set their training base ahead of this weekend’s international match between Zambia and Yemen. Following the arrival of the jet that carried the Zambia team players, the Italian airliner carrying the coaches landed 30 minutes later at about 02:30hours as Dario Bonetti and his staff arrived from their visits of European based Zambian players.
The team is accommodated at the Five Star Movenpick Hotel in Sanaa and has been provided with adequate facilities and security from their time of arrival. The team had its first training session 16.00 hours and will continue to train to match day.
This match is in line with our stated policy of continuously exposing our players to the highest levels of competition so that they can be better prepared for regional, continental and international competitions. This match in particular is important in that it will accord Bonetti and his staff to look at even more players ahead of the Cosafa championship.
In line with the match against Yemen, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has excused midfielder Noah Chivuta Sikombe from this Saturday’s international friendly match against Yemen to allow him concentrate on his new team’s assignments. Chivuta informed us that he had signed a new deal with Free State Stars and he has been put in line for the next leagues game on Saturday and Wednesday.
Our appeal is for the country, as always, to rally with the support and support the boys as we play. Our fans have always been wonderful and with the quality of players, we are confident of pulling a positive result in this game which has been classified A plus and will count towards the FIFA ranking.
