A 10-man Zambia team went down 0-2 to the Ghana U17 team in a tight contest at the Ohene Djani Stadium in Accra; a result which ended the junior Zambians interest in the CAF U17 Africa Cup championship.
A goal in each half from John Nyamekye and Nasiru Mohamed ensured Ghana progressed 3-2 on aggregate. They play the winners of the Senegal/Guinea fixture for a final spot at Rwanda 2011.
Zambia, 2-1 winners in the first leg played over a fortnight ago in Lusaka appeared more organized and dominated proceedings but lacked the finishing power upfront.
The Junior Chipolopolo were reduced to 10 boys after skipper Chishimba Changala was sent off for what the referee adjudged to be foul play and awarded the hosts a penalty which Samuel Asamoah converted to beat birthday goalie John Banda for the second goal.
Their best chance of the second half fell to the substitute Emmanuel Phiri in added time and with only goalkeeper Tijani Musah to beat; his effort was saved by the shot-stopper to the relief of the hosts.
The Zambian team is expected to arrive back home Tuesday morning on Kenya Airways.
