ZAMBIA U20 COMMENCE LIBYA 2011 PREPS - Thursday, June 17, 2010
The Zambia Under-20 national team commences preparations for the qualifying campaign of the 2011 Orange Africa Youth Championships which Libya will host. The team of 32 players will set camp this Sunday. The team will be camped at the FAZ Technical Centre.

The training programme which will run to match day on Saturday July 24 will help our Cosafa youth champions prepare adequately for the first round first leg match against Mauritius.

“We have a lot of confidence in the boys called for the campaign in that it is a wonderful blend of championship winning boys who won the 2009 Cosafa U20 Cup in South Africa and the rising talents from the Zambia U17 team. It will also have other players who the coaches have identified as deserving places in the team. Some foreign based youngsters will also be given a chance to stake a claim in the team as they get into the country sometime in August.”

FAZ has continuously stated its commitment to ensuring that we prepare every national team adequately and the U20 is no exception. The U20 have been given adequate time to prepare intensively and above the time for quality team training, will be availed all necessary logistics to enable them have successful sessions that should put them in good stead for the games against Mauritius.

Further FAZ wishes to call upon all fans and the country to rally with and behind this team because it is the future. They are wonderful talents who can compete with and beat the best as they showed in winning a very competitive Cosafa championship in South Africa in December 2009.
