CHIPOLOPOLO JOB HEAD-HUNT ON, LWANDAMINA REDEPLOYED - Monday, June 14, 2010
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to announce the redeployment of the Zambia CHAN/Development Team coach George Lwandamina to the FAZ Technical Department.

FAZ further wishes to advise the nation that we have accelerated the process of appointing a new and full-time coach of the Chipolopolo – the Zambia National Team.

Following the result of the CHAN final round of qualification, it has become necessary to redeploy Lwandamina as the next round of CHAN qualifiers will only take place in 2013.

Mr. Lwandamina was appointed to lead the Zambia CHAN/Development Team. It is therefore erroneous for anybody to suggest that Lwandamina has been sacked, fired or dropped.

His redeployment has also become essential and possible as he is not attached to any club side at present. Most importantly, he is one of the country’s distinguished coaches whose knowledge, capability and expertise would be effectively utilized by the Technical Directorate and entire football community.

In the Technical Department, his roles will include scouting, monitoring of players and other technical development duties.

In other decisions made by the Executive Committee at the weekend, coaches Lucky Msiska and Wedson Nyirenda were appointed to be in charge of the Zambia Olympic Team.

Other appointments included Keegan Mumba as head of the Zambia U20 Team. He will be assisted by Alfred Lupiya. Appointments for the Zambia U17 Team will be announced as soon as possible.

On the appointment of a full-time Chipolopolo trainer, FAZ will use this period of the 2010 FIFA World Cup to head-hunt for a coach to take-over from where Herve Renard left off. The ExCo, in its meeting at the weekend decided that the process of engagement of the new Chipolopolo coach be accelerated and the process of head-hunting employed for that assignment.
