CHAN TEAM SHIFTS TRAINING BASE TO LIVINGSTONE - Tuesday, May 11, 2010
The Zambia Development Team Tuesday shifts its training base to Livingstone.

The CHAN Team, as the development squad is also called, will set up base in the tourist capital from where they will play a training game against the Southern Province Select side on Saturday May 15 at the Maramba Stadium. The team will then return to Lusaka for final preparations before jetting out to Johannesburg for the first leg of the final round of qualification for the 2011 CHAN championship.

The training camp has been organized by the Football Association of Zambia in partnership with SHaRE, a non-governmental organization working in the area of HIV and AIDS.

“The development team’s training camp in Livingstone is aimed at furthering the intensive training sessions that should help out the team in good stead for the game against South Africa. Over and above, it gives as many fans and people as possible to have a chance to meet and interact with the players and technical bench; a very important component for our country which loves our number one sport,” FAZ spokesperson Erick Mwanza said.

adding: “Added to the training, we have partnered with SHaRE in a social responsibility programme which will see our national team players get involved in raising awareness on matters of HIV and AIDs and good health issues.”

“We therefore appeal to all the fans in Livingstone and Southern Province to attend the various programmes SHaRE has lined up and indeed get to the Maramba Stadium on Saturday early because there will lots of activities from morning to the time of the match which will kick off at 15:00hours.”

Match Date: Saturday 15 May 2010
Venue: Maramba Stadium, Livingstone
