FAZ COMMENDS FIGGE, GERMANY - Tuesday, March 30, 2010
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Kalusha Bwalya has paid glowing tribute to FIFA instructor Jochen Figge and the people of Germany for their wonderful support to the development of football in Zambia.

Kalusha said over the ended year, Figge had been working tirelessly to establish the Technical Directorate of the Football Association of Zambia – a development that had since been achieved in record time.

He told fazfootball.com that with and through the support of the German Embassy in Lusaka, the German Government and German Olympic Movement, FAZ today stood on strong ground and was set for further advances in global football.

During last weekend’s annual general meeting of FAZ, Kalusha with the goal of ensuring that FAZ accelerated the pace of development in regards coaches and players’ development, refereeing and all technical aspects of football, the establishment of the technical directorate had been completed with massive support from Germany.

“Without the work and wonderful support of the German Embassy in Lusaka and German Olympic movement, this work would not have been easy. I therefore wish to commend the people of Germany and in particular the FIFA instructor Mr Jochen Figge for the hard work put into establishing this department,” Kalusha said as he presented the assembly keynote speech.

He added that following the establishment of this department, the Football Association of Zambia had since employed a technical director, Mr Honour Janza to head the directorate.

Janza has been working closely with Figge in the development of the department.

At a ceremony at the German embassy in Lusaka last week, FAZ was also presented with a Toyota Corolla for use by the Technical Department.

FAZ Executive Committee member Marsha Chilemena received the vehicle on behalf of the Association.

He commended the Germany Embassy fir the support stating that it would go a long way in ensuring that the Technical Department had no transport problems when carrying out their duties.
