'WE WILL MAKE THE NEXT ROUND' – RENARD - Monday, January 11, 2010
Journalists inundated Chipolopolo trainer Herve Renard as the Zambia national team arrived at the Lubango airport; seeking the Zambian trainer’s views on his Chipolopolo not being highly rated compared to Fifa World Cup finalists Cameroon and Tunisia.

As the Chipolopolo completed their immigration and exit formalities, Renard remained confident and resolute – asserting that the primary target was to qualify for the next round, regardless of who was in Zambia’s group.

“Our target is to first of all qualify from our group. We know we are going to Tunisia and Cameroon and Gabon in our group games. It will be very competitive and difficult but we know we will qualify,” the Zambian tactician told journalists.

Zambia opens her Nations Cup campaign against Tunisia on Wednesday evening at the newly built 20 000-seat Estadio De Huila Tundavala. The Chipolopolo will then take on Tunisia on Sunday before playing Gabon next Thursday at the Estadio De Benguela Ombaka.

With qualification to the quarterfinals, the Chipolopolo would face the winners or runners-up of Group C, depending on their placement in Group D. Group C is made up of Nigeria, defending champions Egypt, Mozambique and Benin.
