PRESS RELEASE - Thursday, December 09, 2010
FOR THE ATTENTION OF FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF ZAMBIA (FAZ) AFFILIATES, MEMBERS, STAKEHOLDERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC

The Football Association of Zambia would like to advise all Super League clubs, affiliates and members that any purported matches being played by any teams during this off-season are not FAZ Premier League games. They therefore have NO bearing on the already finalized league tables for the Super League, First, Second and Third Divisions which are presently on recess. Clubs are however at liberty to play friendly matches (which do not require FAZ permission and sanctioning); particularly those teams that are representing the country in inter-club continental championships which start early next year.

Any FAZ registered club administrators and match officials such as referees who will be identified associating themselves with any football activity not sanctioned by FAZ, or bringing the name of the game into disrepute and using the name of FAZ and the Premier League in vain will face appropriate sanction and severe punishment in accordance with FAZ and FIFA guidelines.

We would like to remind clubs that the window for players’ retention is open and closes on Friday 31st December 2010. All clubs are advised to take note of this deadline and proceed to the Football House to complete their retention process ahead of the new 2011 season.
