The rock at the heart of the Zambian defence, Chintu Kampamba has formally established himself as one of the Chipolopolo’s most dependable centre-backs after many years on the fringes of the national team.
His pace, commanding presence and leadership at the heart of any defence, remarkable stamina and greater reading of the game coupled with his unrivaled man-to-man marking abilities made him one of the shining stars at the 2010 Orange Africa Cup of Nations finals in Angola.
After his return from the Nations Cup, Chintu left Amazulu and joined fellow Absa premiership side Bidvest Wits in the South African league.
Born 28 December 1980 Chintu has campaigned in Zambia captaining local glamour side Kabwe Warriors before stints in Sweden with IFK Hasselhom.
He later played for Lamontville Golden Arrows before trekking to Amazulu who he left at the start of the new Absa PSL season.
