U20 arrive on Wednesday afternoon

The 2017 U-20 FIFA World Cup quarter finalists Zambia will be expected in the country on Wednesday 7th June, 2017 at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.

Zambia bowed out of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017 after a 3-2 extra time loss to Italy in the quarterfinals.

FAZ Communications Manager Desmond Katongo told Fazfootball.com that the team will arrive in Lusaka at 14:30 hours.

The African champions had a memorable run having started their chase for glory with a 2-1 win over Portugal before beating Iran 4-2.

Zambia then lost to Costa Rica 1-0 before dumping out Germany in a thrilling 4-3 result and fell to Italy 3-2 after having put up a gallant fight.

It was the first time Zambia was playing in the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The team has been on a roller coaster ride from the time they won the Cosafa Cup in December 2016 and the lifted the Africa Cup.
