Chansa tips Zanaco to beat Wydad in Caf tie

Zambian champions Zanaco is set to face Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca in a Group D CAF Champions League tie on Wednesday.

The team has been going about their paces and are upbeat having drawn 0-all against Egyptian giants Al Ahly in their opening match away in North Africa.

During the morning training session at Sunset Stadium, 2012 Africa Cup winner Isaac Chansa told that he was confident the bankers would triumph on Wednesday at Heroes Stadium.

Chansa is back at Sunset Stadium after a short stint with Iraq top tier side Zakho Sports Club where he played four matches before heading back to South Africa to don the colours of First National Division side Royal Eagles.

The former Power Dynamos midfielder is registered for CAF competitions in the 2017 season but is awaiting an International Transfer Certificate before he can feature for Zanaco.

“I believe Zanaco is experienced enough in this competition, they went away in Egypt and recorded a draw and now have a chance at home to record a win,” he said.

The other flag carriers for Zambia in CAF competition are Zesco United who are away in Sudan to face Hilal Obayed on Wednesday at 20:00 hours.

Zanaco’s match against Wydad Casablanca kicks off at 15:00 hours at National Heroes Stadium.
