Mutapa names squad for Tanzania







Zambia U-20 Women’s National Football Team coach Osward Mutapa has named 18 players for the first round first leg Caf U-20 Women’s World Cup qualification match away to Tanzania on Saturday.

Mutapa’s squad is young but most of the players are not new to the international scene having played at the 2014 Fifa U-17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

The team has since left Zambia and arrived in Dar es Salaam on Thursday ahead of the first leg on July 11. The second leg will be played at Nkoloma Stadium on July 25.

The 8th edition of the Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup will be hosted by Papua New Guinea from 28 October to 16 November 2016.

“We were received very well by the Tanzania Football Federation officials.We also had the Immigration Attaché at the Zambian Embassy in Tanzania, Mr Kapambwe present at the airport,” delegation leader Nellie Miyamba told fazfootball.com.

The team held a training session on Thursday afternoon.

The squad:

Goalkeepers: Hazel Nali, Chishimba Chishimba;

Defenders: Chiko Nkhoma, Margaret Belemu, Theresa Chewe, Mary Wilombe, Wendy Kunda;

Midfielders: Esther Nakalange, Edina Phiri, Martha Tembo , Memory Phiri, Ireen Lungu, Lweendo Chisamu, Agness Maseba;

Strikers: Barbra Banda, Judith Zulu, Jackline Nkole and Sylvia Bwalya.
