Power Dynamos replace Zanaco at the top

Power Dynamos have replaced Zanaco at the top of MTN FAZ Super League table following a 1 – 0 win over Red Arrows in a rescheduled week 8 fixture played under floodlights at Arthur Davies Stadium on Monday.

Luka Lungu headed in the only goal of the match in the 7th minute as the Ndeke-based outfit rose from third to the top of the standings for the first time in this campaign.

Power Dynamos lead with 30 points, one more than Zanaco and Zesco United who are tied on 29 points.

Third-placed Zesco United stayed in touch with hitherto leaders Zanaco by beating Green Eagles 1- 0 on Sunday thanks to a 19th minute goal by Mwape Mwelwa who has found the back of the net in three successive matches.

Zesco United have games in hand away to the two teams ranked above them.

They play Zanaco at Sunset Stadium on Sunday, July 12 before travelling to Arthur Davies Stadium five days later.

The league is currently in recess but teams that have games in hand are using the mid-season break to clear the back log.

League action resumes on Saturday, July 18.
